HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found hanging underneath the I-610 North Loop overpass in northeast Houston late Thursday night, according to the Houston Police Department.
HPD says officers responded to the scene with the Houston Fire Department at 7600 North Loop East. According to HPD Homicide Division, the man was found hanging underneath the middle of the overpass and had suffered burns to his body.
The identity of the victim, believed to be a man between 40 and 50 years old, is not being disclosed at the moment, HPD says. They added that the man's cause of death is pending autopsy results by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
