BRADENTON, Fla. ( WWSB ) - James Flowers, Jr. has been sentenced to a decade behind bars in the Florida Department of Corrections for connection to an armed home invasion in 2023.

On the morning of March 3, 2023, Flowers, James Reid, and two other suspects entered a home in the 400 block of Cantabria Trail and held the homeowner at gunpoint. A woman and three children were also inside. The men stole jewelry, cash, and other items according to the Bradenton Police Department (BPD).

BPD said that DNA collected at the scene linked Flowers to the crime.

Detectives issued arrest warrants for Flowers in September 2023, and he was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service in Jan. 2024.
