The Homicide Squad reports that an arrest has been made in connection with a Homicide that originally occurred on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 3:52 pm in Herricks. According to Detectives, Officers responded to 143 Larch Drive for a well check. When Officers arrived, they discovered a 46-year-old female who was found unconscious, not breathing and had apparent facial burns. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by a Nassau County Police Medic. The victim has been identified as Aleena Asif, of Herricks. The medical examiner has determined this to be a criminal homicide due to asphyxiation by an unknown chemical substance. Further testing to be done by the medical examiner officer.
