MAROA, Ill. (WCIA) -- A 69-year-old woman died Thursday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash in Maroa.
Lieutenant Scott Flannery with the Macon County Sheriff's Office told WCIA that at approximately 4:30 p.m., units were called to assist the Maroa Police Department and Illinois State Police with a traffic crash in Maroa.
The passenger vehicle was on South Wood Street, Flannery said, and was turning onto southbound Route 51 when her vehicle was T-boned by the northbound semi. The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 69-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Staff at the Macon County Coroner's Office said they are unable to release the name of the woman at this time, as they are still in the process of notifying her family.
