The stars of HGTV’s “Divided by Design,” Eilyn and Ray Jimenez,” are living a dog owner’s nightmare.

“If you think your pet is safe with your pet sitter, think again,” Eilyn began an ominous Instagram statement posted earlier this week.

Eilyn, who has been married to Ray since 2019, went on to share that the couple’s 12-year-old Shih Tzu, Aria, died in August while under the care of a pet sitter they hired via Rover.com. If that weren’t heartbreaking enough, the duo later learned that the dog sitter lied about how Aria passed.

“The sitter came to our door crying, saying Aria ‘passed peacefully in her sleep.’ She told us a ‘vet friend named Nicole’ had confirmed it and even texted us under that name, claiming Aria had died from a heart attack. Every part of that story was fabricated,”
