North Park Collegiate’s Leah DuChene captured the Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association bantam girls cross-country championship on Thursday.

Competing at Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club, DuChene finished the four-kilometre race in 16 minutes, 26.3 seconds, winning by 20 seconds.

Addison Paquette of St. John’s College was fifth in 16:53.5.

Nolan Davies of Brantford Collegiate Institute was the top bantam boy from AABHN, finishing the four-km race in 14:33.3. He was sixth.

In the junior girls five-km race, Stella Kings of Assumption College was the top AABHN finisher placing fourth in 22:12.2. BCI’s Isabella Karczewski was right behind in fifth place in 22:13.9.

BCI’s Kyle Currie was the top AABHN finisher in the junior boys five-km race, finishing sixth in 19:45.9.
