The top half of the four-team Open Division high school football playoffs in Nevada appear to be set heading into the final week of regular season games tonight.
Defending state champion Bishop Gorman and perennial power Liberty should cruise to convincing wins tonight to solidify the top two spots.
The remaining two spots are arguably still in flux.
Arbor View, sitting at third in this week’s points ranking, faces No. 5 Las Vegas. If Las Vegas pulls off the upset, the Wildcats would finish the season undefeated — and deserving of a spot in the top four.
That’s especially true when you consider Shadow Ridge, currently at No. 4, is projected to fall to Gorman by mercy rule with a running clock.
And then there’s Foothill.
The Falcons have just one league loss on the season but scored 3
