New Delhi: In a move that has raised eyebrows across Pakistan cricket circles, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed its current Test captain, Shan Masood as its Consultant for International Cricket and Player Affairs. The decision was announced on Friday night, effectively placing the 34-year-old in a dual role leading the national Test side while taking on administrative responsibilities within the board’s international cricket department.
This marks the first time a serving Test captain has been handed such a senior post in the PCB’s management setup. While the board’s statement confirmed Masood’s appointment as a consultant, it also hinted that he could soon take over as Director of International Cricket, a post that remains officially vacant.
