The White House is known as the People's House for its place as the seat of American democracy. But it's also been the temporary home of 45 past presidents, each of whom has made their own unique mark on the historic building.
That includes current resident President Donald Trump, who's been remaking the White House to his liking since moving back in in January. This week, the White House began a controversial demolition on the East Wing as part of construction to put in a new ballroom.
