SAN ANTONIO — Police arrested a man they say was throwing objects off a roof onto cars below on the South Side Friday morning — with the help of a police drone.

It happened around 11:54 a.m. near Devine Road and South Presa Street, after witnesses called 911 to report a man on top of a building tossing things into the street and possibly damaging vehicles.

When officers arrived, they launched the department’s drone — nicknamed Ravin — to get a closer look. Police say video from the drone showed the man holding a pocket knife and a blowtorch.

“Someone on the roof throwing things off the building,” said a San Antonio police sergeant at the scene. “Someone saw him with a blow torch, he was throwing things off the roof and may have damaged some vehicles passing by.”
