Investigators with the Hamblen County Sheriff's Office have released more details in an apparent murder-suicide that took place Thursday night in Eastern Hamblen County.

The deceased have been identified as husband and wife, Dennis Chandley, age 69, and Diana Chandley, age 66, of N. Morelock Road in Hamblen County. Friday night at approximately 9:45 p.m., deputies with the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on North Morelock Road in Hamblen County reference to an open 911 call. Upon arrival, deputies were unable to make contact with anyone at the front door and as they proceeded to the rear of the residence, deputies observed a male subject lying on the floor of the family room with a handgun laying nearby.
