After a week of chaos for the government over the national inquiry into grooming gangs, a senior lawyer has told Channel 4 News that further delays will be a ‘betrayal’ to victims.

In Oldham, a local inquiry was promised before the national one, and had already overcome many of the same obstacles.

But this week’s disarray has led some to fear that Oldham’s victims are going to be left in limbo.
