The Department of Public Works invites residents to a public workshop in November to learn about, and provide feedback on, proposed updates to the City’s development impact fees.

The workshop is part of the City’s public review process for the proposed adjustments to fees assessed on new development to help fund the infrastructure needed for City growth.

It will be held Monday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m. in Shepard Hall at the Santa Maria Public Library, at 421 South McClelland St.

According to information from Public Works, Santa Maria’s population — currently estimated at 112,000 — could grow by up to 30,000 residents by 2040.
