COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The former executive director and deputy executive director of the South Carolina Election Commission are both behind bars on multiple charges.

Records show Howard Knapp was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on Friday and charged with nine counts of ethics accountability violations. He’s also facing counts of embezzlement of public funds and accessory after the fact of a felony.

Records also show the former deputy executive director for the commission, Paige Salonich, was also booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on Friday on a wiretapping charge. Her mugshot was also not immediately available.

Mugshots for Knapp and Salonich were not immediately available.

Knapp was fired by the election commission as its executive director in September.
