NEW DELHI: The Border Security Force (BSF) is looking for brave and resilient native dogs for border security. The BSF has written to the police departments of all states through the Bureau of Police Research and Organization. The effort is to find the best native breeds. The dogs will be trained and used on the border and in the fight against terrorism and in operations against Maoists. The BSF says that native dogs can also crack down on drug smuggling across the border.

BSF Director General Daljeet Singh Chaudhary said that native dogs of the Rampur Hound and Mudhol Hound breeds of Himachal Pradesh are now part of the force. These dogs have been deployed on the India-Pakistan and India-Bangladesh borders. These dogs will participate in the National Unity Day p
