United States President Donald Trump has united Canadians. Unfortunately, we may be united against the wrong enemy.
Last week, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre attacked a familiar enemy in his old foe Justin Trudeau, who, according to Poilievre, is a criminal.
More sober political minds would acknowledge two undisputable facts. First, the Trudeau legacy is permanently recorded in the enormous national debt that is the single-greatest threat to Canada’s future. Second, Trudeau is now Katy Perry’s problem.
Whatever Poilievre’s gripe is with the mild treatment given to many Trudeau scandals, the plain truth is that Trudeau is yesterday’s man. He is the wrong target. Which begs the question: Is Prime Minister Mark Carney also focused on the wrong foe?
