FLINT, MI -- Supporters of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church say they’ve given police surveillance video that includes images of a man who set the Flint church on fire eight weeks ago.

The Rev. Kevin Thompson said parishioners at the Dupont Street chapel have resumed Sunday services there and asked anyone with information about the fire and the man who set it to report it to police.

“It is important that we get this person off the street ... before something else happens,” Thompson said.

The pastor and City Council member Tonya Burns (Ward 6) said during a news conference on Thursday, Oct. 23, that the man seen on video outside the church during the early morning hours of Aug. 30 may have since been arrested -- and possibly released -- on an unrelated charge.
