PARCHMENT, MI -- Parchment School District is asking voters to approve a $32.35 million bond in the Tuesday, Nov. 4 election after voters rejected a costlier bond proposal in May.
The new proposal, which is about $4 million less than May’s proposal, is “mostly the same” as the previous one, said Parchment School District Superintendent Sarah Neumann.
The funds are needed to address safety and security upgrades at the district’s elementary schools and upgrade heating and air conditioning, Neumann said.
“Our facilities are aging, and it is becoming very costly to maintain our aging roofs and HVAC systems,” Neumann said.
