INDIANAPOLIS -- A big change in college sports is here after the NCAA approved a rule change that will allow athletes and their athletic department staff members to bet on professional sports.

This ruling comes weeks after the Division I cabinet approved the change. Division II and III management councils held a meeting and both agreed, which allows the new rule to go into effect Nov. 1.

Not only will this affect schools across the country, but it will also affect schools and Universities here in Indianapolis.

"To be really honest, I didn't necessarily know this was happening and then it popped up a couple days ago," said University of Indianapolis Swim Coach Brent Noble.

He's not a big sports bettor, but knows he'll have to address his team once the rule takes effect.
