Space heater suspected in Royalton house fire

ROYALTON, Ill. (WSIL) -- A fire caused heavy damage to a single-family home on Sims Street in Royalton on Friday afternoon.

The Zeigler Fire Department reported the fire does not appear suspicious and may have been caused by a space heater.

Multiple agencies, including fire crews from Royalton, Zeigler, West Frankfort, Hurst, Carterville, Coello, and an AMR ambulance, responded to the scene.

Elkville Fire Department covered the Royalton station during the incident.
