A tourist cab was attacked by a group of men in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, allegedly after rumours spread that the passengers were religious preachers involved in conversions.

A purported video of the attack shows several men armed with sticks approaching the vehicle as police officers try to dissuade them. Their efforts, however, seem to fall on deaf ears as the mob soon attacked the cab.

The video shows the mob smashing the car’s windows and windshield, pulling open its doors, and kicking those inside as cries for help are heard. Some of the attackers had their faces covered.
