The Frankford Canal bridge reopened to traffic this afternoon following the completion of a significant bridge rehabilitation project.
The bridge, which connects the east and west sides of the Trent River in downtown Frankford, reopened this afternoon (Oct. 24) to pedestrian and vehicular traffic following closures this summer and early fall for construction.
Work included extensive concrete patchwork, a handrail replacement, expansion joint replacements, substructure concrete patching and repairs, and paving. The contractor will work for the next two weeks to complete the final bridge repairs and cleanup. Access to the bridge will be maintained during this work.
