MARIETTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The latest viral trend among school-age children is maybe the most perplexing. Atlanta News First sat down with six to seven students at Murdock Elementary School to discuss the viral phrase.

“Six seven,” a phrase spoken aloud to a specific cadence, has no obvious meaning, and its origin story depends on who you ask.

“It began with a song and TikTok video,” said Murdock Elementary School fifth grader Beni Votaw.

If you believe “six seven” started with a song, it would be rapper Skrilla’s song “Doot Doot,” which makes the reference, plastering “67″ on screen.

As legend has it, the meme exploded in popularity in relation to NBA player Lamelo Ball’s height on TikTok, which references his 6 foot, 7 inch height.
