Few players look good amid a six-game losing streak, but Mason Lohrei’s struggles have been particularly amplified.

The Bruins defenseman was culpable for a pair of Panthers goals in Tuesday night’s loss, and though he scored his first goal of the season against the Ducks on Thursday, Lohrei registered a -2 in the 7-5 defeat. An offensive-minded defenseman, the 24-year-old has been too leaky in his own end.

Following Friday’s practice, Bruins coach Marco Sturm was asked what the struggling defenseman needed to do to turn things around.

“Just keep it simple,” Sturm said. “It’s actually easy with him. He is what he is. If you’re not a sprinter, you’re not a sprinter. If you’re a marathon (runner) like (Zdeno Chara) right now, you’re a marathon runner. You will not change that.
