SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - WTOC is getting answers about an EMT charged with driving under the influence while on the job.

Records show Carson McCluskey, a registered EMT was arrested earlier this month.

The CEO of Chatham County Emergency Services Chuck Kearns says the driver was suspended immediately and then fired the next day.

A police report shows that on October 12, Carson Mcclusky was operating a county owned ambulance while responding to a scene.

Once he arrived two other responding officers took notice of McCluskey’s blood shot, watery eyes and said he also smelled strongly of alcohol.

The report reads the Sgt. asked if he would blow into the preliminary breath test device just to determine if he was safe to drive, which he refused.
