BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Brazil Public Library is receiving a ten-thousand-dollar grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
The library is an original Carnegie library, meaning it received money back from Andrew Carnegie in 1904 that allowed the library to open.
For the Brazil Public Library, this 10 thousand dollars means they can enhance their historic roots and preserve the library for years to come. "I think that over the years, you know, it definitely has wear and tear, but I think the in the core it's still got that essence. The woodwork is all the same and it might need a little bit of refreshing," said Brazil Public Library Director, Sarah Trover.
