(WTRF) — Communities across Brooke, Hancock, and Jefferson counties are getting a major boost for redevelopment and economic growth.
The Brooke-Hancock-Jefferson Metropolitan Planning Commission (BHJ) has secured a $1.2 million federal grant to help breathe new life into neighborhoods and key areas throughout the Ohio Valley.
The funding will support community redevelopment, project planning, and partnership efforts with local governments and the Business Development Corporation. Officials say the goal is to identify and assess priority areas across all three counties that are most in need of investment.
“We have to do assessment activities in Brooke County, Hancock County, and Jefferson County as well,” said Mike Paprocki, executive director of the BHJ.
