A man who was severely injured during the SUV rampage at the Lapu Lapu Day festival six months ago has proposed a class action suit against the City of Vancouver, Vancouver Coastal Health and the driver.

John Lind is the representative plaintiff in the notice of civil claim filed in B.C. Supreme Court, seeking damages on behalf of anyone who suffered mental or physical injuries after Kai-Ji Adam Lo drove his Audi SUV past barriers into the crowd just as the event was ending on April 26.

Eleven people were killed and dozens more injured in what Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim called the city’s “darkest day.”

Lind suffered several broken ribs, damage to his spleen, lung and kidney, and post-traumatic stress disorder, according to the suit.
