After months of debate over city funding, the Lompoc City Council has unanimously approved a new service contract with the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce, restoring full financial support for the organization through 2027.

The decision, reached during the Oct. 21 council meeting , follows four months of negotiation between city staff and Chamber leadership after earlier budget talks cut the Chamber’s funding nearly in half.

The approved agreement reinstates $111,500 annually, including a $3,500 audit, reversing a June vote that would have reduced the Chamber’s contract to $60,000. The deal also renews the city’s waiver of facility fees for major community events such as the Old Town Market and Halloween Trick-or-Treat.
