President Donald Trump is expected to name the new White House ballroom, being constructed where the East Wing once stood for more than 120 years, after himself.
Trump insiders are already referring to the $300 million project as “The President Donald J. Trump Ballroom,” which is likely to become its official name, administration sources told ABC News on Friday.
“I won’t get into that now,” Trump said with a smile when asked by reporters on Thursday if a name for the extension had been chosen.
A White House official also confirmed to ABC that the sprawling ballroom, expected to be 90,000 square feet and seat nearly 1,000 guests, is being privately funded. Trump is said to have already gathered enough donations to cover current cost projections — plus another $50 million.
