OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - A man was arrested Thursday after pretending to be an officer.

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a suspicious person on Bella Vista Lane where they discovered 42-year-old Jason Dwayne Whitlock on scene. Whitlock said he was there to repossess a vehicle, however deputies noted that standard repossession procedures weren't followed - dispatch had not been informed.

Deputies said they had also noticed Whitlock's vehicle suspiciously resembled a police vehicle - a white Ford Explorer with bars inside, a pit bar on the front, a spotlight, and a large, black dog inside.
