The Washington Commanders are getting ready for another Monday Night Football game, their second in three weeks, and a trip to Missouri to play the Kansas City Chiefs. Dan Quinn spoke to the media yesterday, and the coordinators get their turn behind the microphone today. Whitt echoed what Quinn said yesterday about simplifying the defense. They want to speed up the process, and eliminate plays that overcomplicate things on the field. The communication in the secondary has been an issue, and Whitt said they missed veteran safety Will Harris.

Whitt is changing the scheme, but there will also be personnel changes. He wants to continue to increase LB Jordan Magee’s role in the defense. The team will have to move more players around, like DT Johnny Newton, due to the injuries at defensive end
