ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -A pair of Florissant Valley Fire Protection District paramedics are being celebrated for their quick actions that helped save the life of their boss.
One early September morning, Jacob Hampton and Ben McMahon, both firefighters and paramedics, received a 911 call for a man suffering chest pains at his home not far from the station.
“I wasn’t even supposed to be on the ambulance that morning, but I had given some truck time to one of the younger guys, so I ended up being on the call,” said Ben McMahon. “So that’s the going joke right now at the fire house, first call of the shift and it’s my boss.”
Both men said the address of the call sounded vaguely familiar, but they didn’t think much of it.
