The national capital Delhi could witness artificial rain for the first time on Oct 29, a move expected to sharply cut the capital's post-Diwali pollution to an Air Quality Index (AQI) level below 100, according to IIT Kanpur Professor Manindra Agrawal, who is leading the project.
However, the success depends primarily on how much moisture forms over the region on that day, Professor Agrawal said in an interview with News18. He added that if the experiment is successful, the model can be replicated for other cities such as Lucknow, Mumbai and Patna.
