WINNIE, Texas — A woman accused of stealing a vehicle at gunpoint in Winnie Park was taken into custody Friday afternoon following a chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies, according to Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne.
Deputies were called to Winnie Park around 12:22 p.m. on October 24 for a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim told deputies that a woman claimed she had a gun, took her keys, and fled in the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies quickly began searching the area and learned the vehicle was traveling east on I-10. Dispatchers then notified law enforcement agencies along the interstate in an effort to locate the suspect.
