MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - Earlier this week, Gov. Tony Evers was told by the Trump Administration that there wouldn’t be enough funds for November SNAP benefits.
According to the Trump Administration, 42 million individuals across the country would lose SNAP benefits.
Over 700,000 people in Wisconsin relied on SNAP benefits in 2024, according to USAFacts.
JoAnn Johnson lives in Milwaukee and relies on SNAP benefits to stay healthy and help her navigate type two diabetes.
“Without healthy meals I wouldn't be able to live,” Johnson said. “You gotta eat to live, it’s just that simple.”
With SNAP benefits potentially going away, Johnson says she is not sure what she’ll do in November.
