BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - State leaders are working to address a lapse in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
Congressmen Mike Ezell and Troy Carter of Louisiana are leading the effort. The congressmen sent a letter to Speaker Mike Johnson and Democrat Party leader Hakeem Jeffries.
As the government shutdown continues, National Flood Insurance Program policies are not being given out or renewed. This leaves homeowners and buyers looking for new insurance and pushing back on closing dates.
