Two families in Udaipur are awaiting DNA results of their newborns after a mix-up at the district’s Maharana Bhupal government hospital.
Anita Rawat from Udaipur and Rameshwari Soni from Chittorgarh gave birth to a child each three days ago, within a span of about 45 minutes. As per Sunita’s husband Sunil, they were initially handed over a boy child, but about an hour later, the staff came and informed them that it’s a girl.
Sunil said, “My wife was admitted at the hospital the night before and when a baby was delivered (on October 21), they said that a baby boy has been born. However, about an hour later, they said that it’s a girl, not a boy. They acted rather irresponsibly; the staff was only interested in collecting reward money (on the childbirth).
