(KRON) -- A 41-year-old felon who allegedly did not yield to officers during a traffic stop lost control and crashed his vehicle while speeding before trying to outrun Petaluma police.

The pursuit started at 11:50 p.m. Thursday in the area of southbound Highway 101, south of Kastania Road and ended with the collision near Petaluma Boulevard South and Crystal Lane when the driver tried to maneuver around a roundabout.

After he fled on foot, police said they quickly located the suspect, identified as Kenneth Douglas, of Willits, hiding close by in thick grass. Douglas has several outstanding felony warrants, according to police. He was taken into custody without further incident.

There were no reports of injuries.
