DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Halloween is right around the corner, here’s several tips to keep you and your family safe during the season.
Tips for drivers
Davenport police said drivers should be more cautious while driving on Halloween.
“There’s a lot of kids that are gonna be out, so pay attention to what’s going on around you,” Lt. Nicholas Shorten said. “Slow down in those residential areas where there’s gonna be a lot of kids.”
According to the National Safety Council’s website , drivers should:
Look for kids walking on roads, medians and curbs
Go in and out of driveways and alleys carefully
Watch for kids in dark clothes at twilight and later at night
Discourage new, inexperienced drivers from driving
