HURRICANE -- When 25-year-old Daniel “Jaron” Heller discovered applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy for children with autism, he knew he wanted to switch from his speech therapy career path.
“I’ve always really loved getting to work with kids and especially kids who were on the spectrum,” Heller said. “It has always been so fulfilling, and when I found ABA, I just fell in love with it.”
Heller is now a registered behavior technician (RBT) at Bright Futures Learning Services in Hurricane, working one-on-one with kids age 5 to 12 to develop life, social and communication skills. He works closely with, and under the guidance of, board certified behavior analysts (BCBA) who create care and treatment plans for each child.
Evaluations are designed and overseen by BCBAs, and Heller said he
