SOUTHFIELD -- It took until the final game of the regular season, but the Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice football team locked up its first state playoff berth for the first time since 2022.

Brother Rice overcame a 15-14 deficit in the third quarter against Sterling Heights Stevenson Stevenson on Friday night for a 24-15 victory and finally stepped away from the brink of a third consecutive season without a playoff berth.
