BOSTON — Democrat Seth Moulton says he won’t support Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for another term to lead the party, if he’s elected, criticizing the veteran New York leader for not doing enough to stand up to President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans.
Moulton, a five-term congressman, announced last week that he is challenging incumbent Sen. Ed Markey in next year’s Democratic primary. The Salem Democrat has framed his campaign around the need for generational change in Washington, D.C., and says the party needs new leaders to push back harder against the president’s agenda.
