PITTSFIELD -- The Poland Knights earned a hard-fought 27-26 victory on Friday when they traveled up to MCI to take on the Huskies.
In the closing minutes of the second quarter, senior running back Miguel Cyr took the handoff but was immediately bottled up by the Huskies defense for no gain.
On the last play of the half, junior Lukas Gayton went deep for his receiver but was picked off by sophomore Brooks Kenney.
Opening the third quarter, the Knights made up for their turnover by getting one of their own when Huskies quarterback Caleb Rush launched one deep but Shawn West intercepted it in stride and got a solid return on top of that.
Poland would score on that ensuing possession and came back from down eight to earn a 27-26 victory.
With that, the Knights qualify for the postseason
