That’s Brady Martin, to you.
The 18-year-old star made his season debut for the Soo Greyhounds on Friday night — 15 games into their campaign — after a four-game stint in the NHL with the Nashville Predators. But his junior club had the “C” stitched onto his sweater long before his return.
“He’s super deserving of it,” said overager and linemate Marco Mignosa. “He’s a leader on and off the ice. He plays the right way at all times. Guys look up to him on this team. It’s pretty fitting for him to get the ‘C.’”
Mignosa, along with Travis Hayes and Chase Reid, will serve as alternate captains.
Martin kicked off his captaincy with a disappointing 4-3 overtime loss to the Peterborough Petes, but it was no fault of his, according to head coach John Dean.
“I thought he was awesome,” he said.
