WALSENBURG, Col., Oct. 25, 1889 — Bob Ford well known as the man who killed Jesse James the Missouri bandit at St Joseph several years ago had a close call for his life here yesterday.

In company with a man named Rehro he has for some time been running a saloon and dance hall here Ford was behind the bar when Ernest Kurry, a cowboy who is known to have “killed his man,” entered.

Kurry was drunk and in a very ugly mood.
