The low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression is centred about 1,040 km south-southeast of Gopalpur and 990 km southeast of Visakhapatnam, the India Meteorological Department informed on Saturday
Weather experts predict that it is likely to further intensify into a deep depression by tomorrow, and could eventually evolve into a cyclone on October 27.
Though the exact landfall point of the potential cyclone remains uncertain at this stage, it is believed that the system may affect the Andhra Pradesh coast.
