Bo Bichette didn’t waste much time proving he wasn’t rusty either at the plate or in the field on Friday night.
On the biggest of stages, Game 1 of the World Series, two-time all-star who was on track to lead the league in hits for a third time in his career before injuring his knee on a slide at home plate way back in September, Bichette showed what he is made of.
There was a single to left field in the first inning — that’s to be expected of a hitter of his quality, even after seven weeks off — and also a magnificent play at second base, a position he has never before played in the Major Leagues — which wasn’t as expected.
All in all, a pretty good spark, that helped the Jays easily take the first game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
