Happy Homecoming weekend Maverick fans! My name is Aiden Taylor, running back for the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks football team.

This year’s Homecoming theme is “It’s Just the Beginning.” This can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. For me, “It’s just the beginning,” means no matter what game we are at during our season, the one game we play today is just the start. We start fresh, wiping all past games from our minds and bring our best to the field for the most special game of the season.

Homecoming is more than just a football game. It’s a feeling, a celebration and a reunion all rolled into one weekend, and at CMU, we celebrate all week just for this one moment. It’s the time each fall when our campus feels alive in a way that’s hard to describe unless you’ve felt it yours
