Independent MP from Bihar’s Purnea, Pappu Yadav, has received a notice from the Income Tax Department. He shared the update on social media on Saturday, stating the notice treated his distribution of relief funds to flood-affected people as a “crime."

The images of the notice shared by the MP show he was asked to appear before the concerned authorities on October 24. The notice, dated October 16, directed the parliamentarian to furnish a written explanation and documents supporting the source of funds distributed to flood-affected families.

Despite the notice, the MP vowed to continue to help those in need.
